Singapore refinery

Singapore refinery at night

Neste’s Singapore presence started in 2007 with the announcement to build the world’s largest renewable diesel refinery in the country

The refinery, which occupies 19 hectares of land, was set up in Tuas in 2010 with 120 employees. This was Neste’s first significant investment in Asia and Singapore was selected based on its world-class logistics connectivity, which enables seamless transportation of raw materials and renewable products into Asia and around the world.

Founded in 1948, Neste's original intent was to secure Finland’s energy supply by producing oil products. The company made a bold and strategic decision in the early 2000s to invest in solutions to combat climate change, by focusing on renewable fuels. This ultimately led to the first renewable refinery in Singapore as part of the company’s transformation journey.
