Neste Oil selected for inclusion in DJSI World for the sixth time in succession
Neste Oil has been selected for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the sixth year in succession according to the official list published on 13 September. A total of 340 companies from 30 countries were selected for inclusion this year. Companies selected for this highly respected index are considered among the best in their field and are expected to show a strong commitment to sustainable development in terms of economic, environmental, and social criteria, as well as continuous development. Companies included in the various DJSI Indexes are selected on the basis of an extensive review by the Swiss-based SAM Group.
The review was based on year 2011 sustainability performance in which Neste Oil focused on areas such as the company's renewable fuels supply chain management and further developing the sustainability verification system, improving occupational and process safety performance, and stakeholder engagement.

"Given the fact that the DJSI's criteria are getting tougher and that their focus is changing over time, no one can take continuing to be selected for inclusion for granted."
Neste Oil has long been a pioneer in developing cleaner, lower-emission traffic fuels, and is committed to being a leader in the industry in terms of sustainability as well. Neste Oil's work in the sustainability area has received recognition in a number of other reviews in addition to DSJI World. Earlier this year, for example, The Global 100 List ranked Neste Oil as the world's 19th most sustainable company, while Forest Footprint Disclosure (FFD) ranked the company as one of the best performers in the oil & gas sector. Neste Oil has also been selected for inclusion in the Ethibel Excellence Investment Register.
