Season’s greetings from Neste Oil

News

With Christmas and the New Year fast approaching, this is the time of year when I like to thank our customers and partners for the past year.

Economic turbulence has continued to be something that we have all had to face this year.To counter this, we at Neste Oil have focused on the importance of courage and being a pioneer. Through our ‘The only way is forward’ campaign, we have tried to promote debate on the positive impact courage can and does have, not only in the business world, but also in securing major achievements affecting the world as a whole. Legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin, one of the crew that made the historic first landing on the moon, knows how important courage is first hand, and was a natural choice for the campaign’s spokesman.

Courageous and decisive actions are very much in demand in the economically uncertain times that we are currently living in today. We at Neste Oil took a number of bold initiatives ourselves this year, aimed at making it easier for people to enjoy being on the move while minimizing the impact they have on the environment.

We launched two new products, for example: Neste Pro Diesel, the world’s best diesel, and NExBTL renewable naphtha, which can be used for producing things like bioplastics. We also succeeded in increasing the use of waste and residues in the production of renewable fuels and made progress in raw material research by opening the Europe’s first microbial oil pilot plant in Porvoo, Finland.

In the words of our campaign, though, the only way is forward, and we are already looking forward to 2013 and beyond. Our work on developing ever-cleaner solutions for traffic and transport will continue!

Instead of traditional season's greetings we will donate 15,000 euros to charity. The donation targets are: WWF Baltic Sea, Let’s Help Young People campaign and New Children’s Hospital 2017 in Helsinki.

A very Happy Christmas to you all and a Courageous and Prosperous 2013!
