Remedial Transportation Services, Inc. (RTS Trucking) is a small family business with big aspirations. Specializing in hazardous and non-hazardous waste transportation, remediation, and waste characterization for disposal, RTS Trucking has long been committed to its community and the environment. 

Based in Bakersfield, California, surrounded by stunning mountain ranges often shrouded by smog, RTS Trucking felt a responsibility to mitigate its impact on the environment. Operating a fleet of 50 trucks that traverse the western states, emitting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in their wake RTS Trucking's priority was clear: keep trucks on the road with fewer maintenance issues while reducing their environmental footprint.

Before making the switch, RTS Trucking encountered frequent maintenance issues, initially attributing those issues to aging machinery. That's when they were introduced to Neste MY Renewable Diesel by the Jeffries Brothers and realized a low-carbon fuel could be the solution.

Vice President of Operations, Kenny Smith, was sold on the switch as soon as he saw the visible difference in the fuel clarity. Neste MY Renewable Diesel is completely clear, presenting a stark contrast to the previous dark-colored diesel running through RTS trucks, which required frequent filter changes.

The switch was completely seamless, requiring no modifications or costly equipment changes. RTS Trucking experienced immediate improvements in fuel mileage and truck performance, along with significantly decreased maintenance costs. The fuel burns cleaner, resulting in less fuel filter changes and extending engine longevity. 

Along with reduced maintenance costs and fleet downtime, RTS Trucking is reducing GHG emissions by up to 2,330 metric tons.
