Switching to renewable diesel made easy

The clock is ticking to mitigate climate change. Renewable fuels are the most cost-efficient solution to reduce transport emissions. Their distribution relies on existing infrastructure, and they can be used in the existing vehicle fleet.

Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a renewable fuel for diesel engines. Neste's renewable diesel is a pure hydrocarbon diesel fuel (hydrotreated vegetable oil, HVO) with a similar chemical composition to fossil diesel, which allows the fuel to be used as a drop-in replacement. It can be used unblended, i.e. neat (HVO 100) or blended at any ratio. The use of Neste MY Renewable Diesel, made from 100% renewable raw materials, can result in up to 75% or up to 95%* less greenhouse gas (GHG or CO2e) emissions over the fuel’s life cycle when compared to fossil diesel. Neste MY Renewable Diesel GHG emission reduction

The calculations follow the well-to-wheels principle, which means that all GHG emissions over the full life cycle of the renewable diesel are taken into account and compared with the GHG emissions over the entire fossil diesel life cycle. In addition to the GHG emissions from fuel use, the life cycle emissions include also the emissions associated with the extraction or production of raw materials, fuel refining, and emissions from all logistics of the raw materials and the end product.
