Sustainable Nolla cabin

The Nolla cabin illustrates how self-sufficiency and the use of renewable energy sources with minimal CO2 emissions can be achieved by modern solutions. It’s an experiment to explore how we could live on less, whilst spending more time enjoying the nature. Nolla is a prototype of a sustainable summer cottage, developed by Neste.

Nolla in Lidö

The home islands of the Nolla cabins

Vallisaari is one of the most diverse areas in the archipelago of Helsinki and was the first place where Nolla was located. Just a 15-minute boat ride away from the Market Square in Helsinki, the island offers an experience of virtually pristine nature. As part of Neste's Zero Island project, Lidö Island got its own Nolla cabin. Lidö, located in the Stockholm archipelago, has undergone a change towards carbon neutrality last year. The grand opening of the island took place in 2018.
