Neste Oil to cooperate with CMI 31.03.2011

Neste Oil and Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) have signed a 12-month cooperation agreement. Founded by past Finnish President Matti Ahtisaari in 2000, CMI is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting peace and resolving conflict through knowledge-building and practical solutions. CMI has been involved in projects and work in a number of crisis areas around the world, including Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to support CMI and its work in promoting peace,” says Osmo Kammonen, Neste Oil’s Senior Vice President, Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs. “Peace and conflict resolution are such important issues for the world as a whole that we have decided to extend our emphasis on social responsibility beyond the countries we operate in and our own industry that we normally focus on.”

CMI is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will hold a special seminar entitled Every Peace Matters on 19 April. Under the new agreement, Neste Oil will become one of CMI’s official partners and one of the sponsors of the anniversary seminar.
